As you all know I am a huge coffee enthusiast! Currently I am sipping on the Jamaican Blue Mountain Blend while enjoying a home made banana chocolate chip muffin. Door County Coffee re-released the Jamaican Blue Mountain Blend just in time for earth day which is tomorrow! 🌎

We have discovered an amazing little gem of a Japanese restaurant in our small town. It has become one of our favorite spots and I feel really grateful to have it. The chefs specialize in the unique art of Teppanyaki where the food preparation takes place before your eyes on a heated steel grill. They are best known for their fillet mignon, shrimp, scallops, lobster, and of course the AMAZING sushi bar. My boys enjoy the fried rice and Jason even got into the seaweed soup and gobbled up a kappa roll.
Here is our vlog which features the chef preparing our food. The restaurant experience starts at 5:10.
As long as I can remember I have been avidly journaling. I have filled notebooks and diaries to the brim with my thoughts and feelings. This has been a very positive form of self care for me through varies life events. I encourage you to start journaling too! It doesn’t take a skilled writer to begin. I thought I would offer you a little prompt today, because sometimes that is all we need to get the ball rolling.
So grab a pen, notebook, and snack (because lets face it, everything is better with a snack) and lets get your journal started!
Write about how you are currently feeling and how you want to feel today.
I will share what I wrote to break the ice…
I am currently feeling a bit of sadness in my heart for the state of our world. I also think that the dark skies and chance of more snow have given me a bit of a gloomy spirit. But I’d like to feel hopeful today despite all of that. I am thankful for my boys, for my home, and for this delicious Love Crunch granola I am enjoying. So hopeful is the word I will focus on today. Not every day is perfectly happy…but every day can be filled with hope.
Hey everyone! Fall baking has begun for me! It doesn’t take much other than a slightly crisp evening and a tiny tinge of yellow or red on the leaves outside for me to break into all things autumn. I especially love the breads and coffees this time of year. I thought I would share with you the recipe to my pumpkin bread which I posted a picture of on instagram yesterday. If you try it please let me know how it goes! And share in the comments what your favorite fall treats are. Click here to see my fall haul!
Pumpkin Bread Recipe
1 c. of canned pumpkin 4 eggs 2 c. sugar 1 c. cooking oil
Mix together. Add:
2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Divide into the pan or pans of choice…I used my bundt cake pan. Add toppins (nuts, glaze, etc) as desired…I left mine plain so my boys would eat it. 😉
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes OR until a knife comes out clean when poked in the center of the pan.
This vlog just showcases a typical day yet the boys and I seized it and had such a wonderful time. There was no specific reason, we just enjoyed the sun and one another company…I’m sure the gooey triple chocolate browns and fresh watermelon helped! 😉
I am a coffee lover. I started out drinking cappuccino around the age of 16. The foamed milk mixed with espresso was my introduction into the world of java. Shortly after that I discovered the wonderful variety of creamers that could be added for even more decadence and flavor. I’ve been hooked ever since!
15 years of trying almost every coffee combo there is has left me a bit of a connoisseur. I take great interest in what others order at coffee shops or what sorts of coffee they make at home because I find it so interesting.
So tell me, how do you prefer your coffee? I must admit, the majority of the time I am an E. I love my cream and milk!
This morning I cheated on Starbucks and tried McDonald’s McCafe Iced Coffee!
My overall impression was good…although I don’t like it as much as Starbucks, I did enjoy it and I will try it again. We ordered a Hazelnut Iced Coffee and a French Vanilla Iced Coffee. Both my husband and I preferred the French Vanilla. I was pleasantly surprised! What are your favorite places to order coffee? What is your favorite coffee drink?
As you may know, I like to have little one on one dates with my sons. This way they get more personal attention and their own time to shine. Recently I took Jonah to Market Street and we had a blast! I’m really glad I decided to vlog bits and pieces of it because he is enjoying watching our fun over and over. What great memories we captured!
