Japanese Cuisine

We have discovered an amazing little gem of a Japanese restaurant in our small town. It has become one of our favorite spots and I feel really grateful to have it. The chefs specialize in the unique art of Teppanyaki where the food preparation takes place before your eyes on a heated steel grill. They are best known for their fillet mignon, shrimp, scallops, lobster, and of course the AMAZING sushi bar. My boys enjoy the fried rice and Jason even got into the seaweed soup and gobbled up a kappa roll.

Here is our vlog which features the chef preparing our food. The restaurant experience starts at 5:10.

Door County Coffee Giveaway!

I’ll admit, I have a major case of spring fever…BUT I can still see the beauty in a crisp¬†winter morning snuggled up with a warm cup of coffee. On these mornings I retreat to my little nook of the house where I like to spend a few quiet moments before the hustle and bustle of the day takes over.

If you try it please let me know how it goes! And share in the comments what your favorite fall treats are. Click here to see my fall haul!

Pumpkin Bread Recipe

1 c. of canned pumpkin
4 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 c. cooking oil
Mix together. Add:
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Mix together.

Divide into the pan or pans of choice…I used my bundt cake pan. Add toppins (nuts, glaze, etc) as desired…I left mine plain so my boys would eat it. ūüėČ

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes OR until a knife comes out clean when poked in the center of the pan.

ENJOY with a big mug of coffee of course!

Trying Mac & Cheetos + Swimming in Lake Michigan

I wanted to share with you a fun vlogging day we had. It started as most¬†morning do for us, with a walk to go get coffee and a muffin. We had lots of laughs trying the hyped Mac and Cheetos from Burger King. Then we spent the afternoon splashing around at the Lake…. just soaking in the fresh air and the sun while enjoying each others company. I hope you will drop by youtube to watch our little family adventures. Click here to check it out!

Vlog! What I eat in a day & family fun!

This vlog just showcases a typical day yet the boys and I seized it and had such a wonderful time. There was no specific reason, we just enjoyed the sun and one another company…I’m sure the gooey triple chocolate browns and fresh watermelon helped! ūüėČ
